Frontend
Interface is the public Frontend to the Middleware. It enables a networked search in the shared databases of the Consortium partners.
The discussion about appropriate play-back formats, which present the content correctly, and of the representational form was a lengthy process. Different levels of preparation of content had to be discussed.
To give an example: the order for sorting hits, without discriminating against individual partners (order of entries). Or the question in what manner the interface reflects both the requirements of the middleware, and the demands of the user, is represented in the description of field requests.
